Nonprofit discounts on social media tools in 2026: 23 vendors compared
Short answer

The headline percentage is the least useful part of a nonprofit offer. What decides the bill is which plans the discount covers, whether it applies to monthly billing, whether it stacks with the annual discount, and what the discounted plan costs at your channel count. This page sets out what each vendor states on its own pricing page, nonprofit page or help centre, read on 19 October 2026, then works through one example with numbers you can recompute.
Which social media tools offer a nonprofit discount?
Twenty of the 23 vendors below state some nonprofit discount on their own site. Sixteen state its size. "Not stated" means the vendor's pages say nothing on that point, not that the answer is no.

Two vendors contradict themselves. Planable's FAQ says 30% while its dedicated nonprofit article names no figure. Vista Social's pricing FAQ limits the offer to US nonprofits while its nonprofit page accepts "your country's equivalent" of a 501(c)(3). Ask in writing before you budget on either.
Sprout Social publishes prices, not a percentage: Professional is $239 per seat a month against $299, Advanced $299 against $399, both billed annually. The 20% and 25% figures are our arithmetic. Metricool's offer appears only in a blog post on its own site, not on its pricing page.
What does a nonprofit actually pay after the discount?
Take a nonprofit that runs 10 channels (say Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube for a main brand, plus six local or campaign accounts) with one person posting. The table prices the cheapest plan of each tool that holds 10 channels, on annual billing where that is the cheaper option, then applies the stated discount. List prices are from each vendor's pricing page, checked 2026-10-19, in US dollars except where noted.
| Tool and plan | Channels included | List price per month | Nonprofit discount | Nonprofit price per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer Essentials | 1 per $5 channel price; 10 bought | $50 (10 × $5, billed yearly) | 50% | $25 |
| Loomly Starter | 12 accounts, 3 users | $49 (billed annually) | 50% | $24.50 |
| Hootsuite Standard | Up to 10 accounts | $99 per user (annual billing) | Nonprofit price | $39 |
| Vista Social Professional | Up to 15 profiles | $79.17 ($950 a year) | Up to 50% | $39.58 at the full 50% |
| Agorapulse Standard | 10 profiles | $79 per user (billed annually) | 20% | $63.20 |
| Sprout Social Professional | Per seat | $299 per seat (annual) | Nonprofit price, two-seat minimum | $478 for the minimum two seats |
Three things move the answer more than the percentage:
- The discount base. Hootsuite and Agorapulse price per user, so a second person doubles the bill before and after the discount. Buffer prices per channel, so the bill grows with every channel you add. Loomly's Starter includes three users.
- Plan restrictions. Later discounts only the annual Growth plan; Statusbrew and Sprout Social exclude their entry plans, so the discount can push you onto a dearer tier than you needed.
- Stacking. SocialBee's 50% stacks with its annual discount. Sendible's nonprofit rate replaces its annual discount instead, and Later's applies to no add-ons.
For comparison, Schedchie states no nonprofit discount but charges €7.99 a month, billed monthly, for unlimited accounts and posts. That is in euros, but at any recent exchange rate it is below every discounted dollar figure in the table at 10 channels. It is a scheduler; if you need the reporting or team features of the larger suites, price those plans first.
For how per-user, per-channel and flat pricing compare at other account counts, see the cost table in our multiple-accounts ranking.
What proof of nonprofit status do vendors ask for?
The vendors that describe the check want one document:
- United States: the IRS determination letter confirming 501(c)(3) status (Loomly, Publer, Statusbrew, Vista Social, CoSchedule; RecurPost accepts any 501(c) certificate). Sprout Social limits its pricing to US 501(c)(3) organizations.
- Outside the US: a government-issued equivalent (Loomly, Publer, Vista Social's nonprofit page, CoSchedule, RecurPost). A charity register entry or tax-exemption certificate is the usual form; ask the vendor which one it accepts before you sign up.
- Fiscally sponsored projects: CoSchedule accepts a fiscal sponsorship letter.
- Website check: Sendible says it checks your organisation's website and contacts you if the status is not obvious.
Hootsuite offers TechSoup as one route to its nonprofit pricing. If your organisation is already validated there, that can save a second round of paperwork.
When does the discount start, and what does it exclude?
Read the timing and scope before you pay:
- Future payments only. Vista Social applies the discount to future payments, not to what you have already paid. CoSchedule asks you to apply before your trial ends.
- Add-ons. Later excludes add-ons such as extra social sets and users. Agorapulse covers base plans and user, profile and competitor add-ons, but not its Listening, X Lite or X Plus add-ons.
- Purchase channel. Later's discount is not available on purchases made through iOS.
- Use restrictions. SocialBee requires that the account manage only the NGO's own social accounts, which rules out an agency using a client's nonprofit status.
- Other promotions. CoSchedule combines the nonprofit rate with referral and review discounts but not with other promotions or coupons. Sendible's nonprofit rate cannot be combined with its standard annual discount.
A checklist before you apply
- Count channels and users for the next 12 months, not today.
- Price the plan you would need after the restrictions, not the cheapest plan on the page.
- Ask whether the discount covers monthly billing if the vendor does not say; several do not.
- Get the discount in writing, with its size, the plans it covers and whether it renews at the same rate.
- Have the determination letter or local equivalent ready as a PDF before you start a trial.
- Check the renewal terms: a discount granted in year one is not a promise for year two unless the vendor says so (Loomly states a lifetime discount; most vendors state nothing).

Frequently asked questions
Does Buffer give nonprofits a discount?
Yes. Buffer states a 50% discount on paid plans for nonprofit and charity organizations. You create a free account, then submit Buffer's nonprofit request form with your documents; Buffer says it replies in about two days.
Does Hootsuite have nonprofit pricing?
Yes. Hootsuite's HootGiving page lists nonprofit prices of $39, $79 and $159 per user a month for Standard, Professional and Advanced, based on annual billing, against list prices of $99, $199 and $399. You apply directly or through TechSoup.
Can non-US nonprofits get these discounts?
Often, but not everywhere. Publer, Loomly, CoSchedule and RecurPost accept a government-issued equivalent of a 501(c)(3). Sprout Social's nonprofit pricing is for US 501(c)(3) organizations only, and Vista Social's own pages disagree on the point.
Which tools state no nonprofit discount?
SocialPilot, ContentStudio and Postiz state none on their pricing pages. Zoho Social, Metricool, Sked Social and SocialBu say a discount exists but do not state its size.
